New Episode! We’re the Otherhood
Kicking off Non-Mom May with a Chicana tech veteran and survivor of assimilation and infertility
Want to get right to this week’s podcast episode? Check out We’re the Otherhood with Theresa Gonzales on your favorite app.
Did you know that Latinas only make up 2% of the entire tech workforce? There are even fewer in the C-suite or boardrooms of the major tech companies.
So it’s no wonder that without having our hands on the code, we’re not very well represented by the code.
What does that mean for us?
A perpetuation of the culturally demeaning stereotypes that have plagued us since the colonization of the New World.
But my guest Theresa Gonzales, with a background of 18 years in the tech industry, is aiming to change that!
As CEO and producer of the podcast Latinas from the Block to the Boardroom, she provides a social justice platform for all women of color, especially Latinas.
And her background as a “purple squirrel” at all the major tech companies gives her the unique insight to show us all how we can fix it.
Hint: we’re looking at you, Gen Z!
We’re the Otherhood with Theresa Gonzales is a raw and emotional episode illustrating Chicana struggles AND triumphs, plus further opens the door to dismantling the BS & toxicity in our culture, en nuestra cultura, by tackling tech.
