Keeping Up with Chaos: A Childfree Weekend Update
Challenging society's motherhood norms, one podcast at a time
Popping into your box 😜on the weekend to give you another entertainment option.
I had the pleasure of sitting on the other side of the microphone recently with my new friends at the Keeping Up with Chaos podcast.
You might think that sitting down with 3 moms and a single dude would be a stupid thing for a childfree Latina to do. But it turns out we have allies out there that might also have children. And they want to support us.
From the show description:
Many believe that having a baby is a woman's most important achievement and society places a great deal of pressure on women to become mothers. People always seem to frown upon those who are not following the "standard protocol" of getting married in their young adult years, having a couple of kids and then growing old and retiring.
Great news! Women can have fulfilling lives without children! We unpack a lot during this episode but this is a very important conversation that needs to be had.

If You’re New Here
Hey, if you’re a new subscriber, welcome! A bunch of you signed up just this week and I’m thrilled you’re here. Down below I’m going ask you to pay it forward and share it with someone new, too.
Twice. I’m gonna ask twice. 😁
Thanks for joining!
ICYMI (in case you missed it)
Earlier this week I sent you 3 announcements in the new episode post. They’re reposted below (with corrections 😓):
LVMC merch is now live! There’s now a limited edition shirt available for purchase. This one goes out to my love for LA and joins the pantheon of Dodgers-style t-shirts available all over the city. It was created and printed right here in Long Beach.
We’re moving, which will probably disrupt the podcast schedule. I hope to keep publishing on Substack at least once each week though. Even if it’s just to update you on the joys/horrors of moving overseas!

Limited edition LVMC t-shirts are now available!!
***In the last post, I accidentally used an early version of the shirt instead of the current one which features the Hecho in LB tagline. This picture above is the actual shirt.
If you’re in So Cal, you can pick one up at Adelitas Revenge in Long Beach—where my guest Luis and I met earlier this year.
Not local? Check out the merch at pauletteerato.com/shop. Currently shipping across the US (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) for a flat rate.1

We’re moving!
The plan is to move to Puerto Rico in the next few months. If you’ve ever experienced a cross-country move, you might know how complicated that can be. Add a language barrier, and we’re in for a real treat!
What does that mean for you? More Spanglish in the podcast! And hopefully a new depth to the mission of dismantling cultural bullshit while actively living in said culture.
That also means that new episodes will pause for a short while as we get settled and improve nuestro español. In fact, I have a whole episode on surprising facts about Puerto Rico coming out next, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, I’d like to ask for a favor. While episodes might pause, this newsletter hopefully won’t. In fact, my goal is to grow the readership to at least 100 people this year—and you can help with that!
Simply share this post. Use this button here to share it on your socials:
Because everyone you know should enjoy a burrito and unlearn the toxic cultural bullshit we all grew up with. 🌯🌯🌯
Plus there’s so much more in store for you (and all future readers). I promise it’ll be worth it.
One Last Thing
Since there are so many of you who are new here now, tell me a little about yourself in this poll:
PS: don’t forget to listen to Keeping Up with Chaos, especially if you answered parent or undecided above. There’s some really great tips on allyship in the episode, which helps all of us!
